An illustrated steak pie for Scotland's Remotest Pint
Steak pie by Andrew Yong

Te Araroa is a route of food carried forward and food found when the route reaches a town. Resupply changes with the distance between services. Cafés, dairies, bakeries, pubs, lodges, and supermarkets give a walking day its pauses, while road sections, river crossings, weather, and tide timing shape when those pauses are possible. This guide is research-based rather than a firsthand account of the trail.
